Road Safety Week

This week we had a special guest come to visit us......Constable Debbie!

She took us across the crossing outside Belfast School and talked to us about to cross the road safely. She talked about how important our ears are and that we tend to hear a vehicle before we see it.

This was a fantastic experience for us and we now know how to be safe when crossing the roads.

A big thank you to those parents who helped us!!!!

Cross Country

This week we ran our Cross Country. We had trained so much for this day. We were feeling a little nervous be we were excited to show all of the parents and teachers how amazing our running was. We all tried our hardest to run the whole way. It was so much fun representing our house colours; Care, Share, Learn and Grow.

Miss Baxter was so proud of all of us. Check us out as we ran out hearts out!!!!

ANZAC Memorial

On the last day of Term 1 Room 7 and the rest of the school got together to remember those fallen soldiers from Australia and New Zealand. We sung the National Anthem and spent time thinking about the soldiers sacrifices to help make Belfast School what it is today. We will remember them...

Algebra

In Room 7 we have been learning about Algebra. This involves learning about patterns and how they repeat and are in sequence. These can involve colours, numbers and even shapes!
We have been using the equipment in the classroom to create patterns of our own! Check them out!

Easter Hunt

On Thursday the 24 of March, the Junior Syndicate celebrated Easter. We had an Easter hunt. We had to find colours around the playground to help us colour in our picture of the Easter bunny. This was so much fun. It was even more exciting because after we completed the picture, Mrs Short gave us a special treat from the Easter bunny himself!!!

Flag Referendum

This week we have been learning about the Flag Referendum. We have been learning about the current New Zealand flag and the Silver Fern flag. We watched a video that explained a little bit about each flag then we voted. Remember, it is important to keep our vote a secret!!!!

SEA WEEK!

This week has been Sea Week.
We all celebrated this by completing lots of activities and reading books that were about the creatures of the ocean. We completed some art work of fish, dolphins and sharks. These look amazing hanging up in our classroom. Come and check it out!
We also dressed up as something from the sea. We had many jellyfish, rainbow fish, turtles, surfers and stingrays. We got to participate in a parade and show off our amazing costumes to the school. What an awesome week!!!!
