FairyTale

It was an exciting week in Room 7. We all got dressed up as our favourite fairytale character. We had so many different fairytales. We got to perform in a parade for other classes and we also had a special surprise where we got to meet Bella, Cinderella, Rapunzel and Queen Elsa! It was so much fun. Check out how amazing we look!!!

Science and the World of Matter!

These past few weeks we have been putting on our scientist hat and learning about matter and three states that matter can be in: liquid, solid and gas.

We have been participating in some experiments. We have been using heating cooling and mixing to change matter. Our discussions in class are great because our experts can talk about why the matter is changing and how it changes.

Here we created jelly. We wondered how it changes from being liquid to a solid. We had to use mathematics to work out how many cups of boiling water we needed. Mmmmmm it tasted delicious.

We have also discovered how to melt chocolate. We had many ideas about how to melt chocolate. We used the gas steam to heat up and melt the chocolate. It was very cool for us to all watch the chocolate change state, from a solid to a liquid. Then we could spread the chocolate onto a biscuit and enjoy its yummy flavour! This was so much fun!

We are very excited to participate in our next science experiment!

Road Safety Week

This week we had a special guest come to visit us......Constable Debbie!

She took us across the crossing outside Belfast School and talked to us about to cross the road safely. She talked about how important our ears are and that we tend to hear a vehicle before we see it.

This was a fantastic experience for us and we now know how to be safe when crossing the roads.

A big thank you to those parents who helped us!!!!

Cross Country

This week we ran our Cross Country. We had trained so much for this day. We were feeling a little nervous be we were excited to show all of the parents and teachers how amazing our running was. We all tried our hardest to run the whole way. It was so much fun representing our house colours; Care, Share, Learn and Grow.

Miss Baxter was so proud of all of us. Check us out as we ran out hearts out!!!!

ANZAC Memorial

On the last day of Term 1 Room 7 and the rest of the school got together to remember those fallen soldiers from Australia and New Zealand. We sung the National Anthem and spent time thinking about the soldiers sacrifices to help make Belfast School what it is today. We will remember them...

Algebra

In Room 7 we have been learning about Algebra. This involves learning about patterns and how they repeat and are in sequence. These can involve colours, numbers and even shapes!
We have been using the equipment in the classroom to create patterns of our own! Check them out!
