Ferrymead

This term we are starting to focus on toys. We are thinking about where they come from and what type of toys we like to play with.

We have been to Ferrymead last week! Here we learned all about what life was like 100 years ago. We got to discover what it was like to do chores and go to school a century ago. We also got to learn what toys children played with during this time. This was a fantastic day and I think that we wish that some of these toys still existed.

Maths Week!

This week was Maths Week! Wow this was such an exciting week!

We had many different, fun things happening this week. Everything we did had something to do with maths. We did maths writing and maths reading. We had a special question each day which we could enter a competition and answer.
We also had the House of Bricks come and visit. We got to play with over 50,000 pieces of lego!!! There were different words that we had to show the meaning of with lego.

Celebrating Matariki!

We have been celebrating the Maori New Year. This week we have learned all about the seven sister stars. We talked about ways the new year is celebrated.

We all worked together to create our very own Matariki mobile. These look so awesome hanging up in our classroom. Come and have a look!

Winter Writing

This week in Room 7 we went on a winter walk. Miss Baxter told us to notice as much as we could by using our senses. We had to think about what we could see, smell and hear.

We enjoyed really thinking about what noticed and we have begun to write about it. We are working hard to try to think of new and creative ways to describe what we saw. Come into Room 7 and read our writing!

FairyTale

It was an exciting week in Room 7. We all got dressed up as our favourite fairytale character. We had so many different fairytales. We got to perform in a parade for other classes and we also had a special surprise where we got to meet Bella, Cinderella, Rapunzel and Queen Elsa! It was so much fun. Check out how amazing we look!!!
